Pierotucci inaugurates its new line of Designer Italian Funny Tees
Pierotucci, experimenting with the local artistic talent, has stepped out of its role as a leading Italian leather designer and producer to have fun in the printing of humorous Italian tee shirts, an area where normally you find only the classical red, white and green tourist trap gadgets.
Pierotucci Leather Factory is collaborating with the local artistic talent to mix the typical Tuscan sense of humour with colourful and unique artistic designs, in hope to bring a smile to the face of its fans – both foreign and Italian.
The tee shirt designs use classical Italian icons to give image and color to the “moda da dire” and more famous one-liners found in the Italian language. Grasiela, the graphic artist, has used color and shadows to play with certain images that speak a thousand words – such as the Godfather or the classical Vespa motorbike. She has playfully added spark and flair to the humorous sayings that pepper the Italian conversation.
Matteo Tucci, owner and designer at the Pierotucci Leather Factory, has collected some of the more memorable images and humorous phrases and worked closely with Grasiela to translate them into simple yet expressive souvenirs of Italy. They are as suitable for the Italian citizen as they are for the tourist who has fallen in love with this irresistible land, their warm laughter and their wry sense of humour.
“We aren’t thinking about changing from the traditional leather work to making t shirts, it just seemed like a fun way to let off some creative steam.” Matteo explained when asked why t-shirts when their primary line of work is Italian leather. But he also indicated that Pierotucci Leather, who exports internationally and is well known worldwide, enjoys collaborating with the international community that live in Florence Italy.
Grasiela, the graphic artist, is as international as they come – with Italian and Japanese decent, born in Brazil and now residing in Italy, she uses her uniquely intercontinental experience to give life to these designer Italian T shirts.
Matteo has already begun thinking of the future, and opening the drawing board to more local talent to design the next round of Italian funny t shirts. As soon as Feburary 2011 it is possible that they will hold a design contest where international designers can show-off their grasp of the Italian sense of humour and their artistic talent in a competition for the new season.

Enquiring minds at Pierotucci want to know, what’s cool to you?
Is what’s cool in the UK the same for the US?

It was no surprise to us at Pierotucci.com when we read the results of the Top 20 CoolBrands 2010/2011 which touted Vivienne Westwood Fashion – Designer at number 12. By its own definition this “survey of experts and consumers” was commissioned “to produce a yearly barometer of the coolest brands, people and places in Britain.” Two cheers for Britain as it uses CoolBrands® as “an annual initiative to identify and pay tribute to the nation’s coolest brands”.
But the question one asks now, does the UK share the same “cool” sense as the rest of the world? We all know that the iPod, iPhone and Dom Perignon are indispensable for any busy lifestyle today – but can we say the same for the other selected brands.
For all you who live and breathe the Britian fashion sense, then you need to check out Pierotucci who has a limited selection of VW – and they are all on sale! CLICK HERE to see more information on their selection and their discount prices.
