Breaking Free-”dom” of Tradition with Rock Icons
Posted by Pierotucci in Nomination on March 5, 2013
Italian, fashion and jewelry are three words that go together like 18K yellow gold and Italian leather jacket.
So when one say Nomination Italy, its easy to conjure up ”jewellery Made in Italy, with love and passion.” There is no mistaking the quality and the innovative characteristicas of a bracelet, necklace or ring that is described as the cutting edge of Italian fashion jewelry when it comes off the drawing table of Nomination Italy.
Following in the footsteps of a tradition that stretches back further than the Etruscans, Nomination began its story in a small town on the outskirts of Florence in the 1980′s. With the objective to bring quality yet affordable jewelry with a distinctive Italian signature to the public, the owner Paolo Gensini mixed goldsmith traditions with Italian design and stainless steel to create several collections which still lead the sector in stainless steel and gold jewelry in creativity and quality. Over time they have added enamels, stones, precious and semi precious gems, diamonds, Swarovski elements and crystals uniting them with Italian ingenuity and keeping a finger on the trends, emotions and values of the young at heart.

.
Though their composable, or modular bracelet, is an icon in the Italian fashion jewelry world, they have also created several other lines of trend setting pieces. Pierotucci, a qulaity Italian leather jacket and handbag producer is always delighted to offer other quality Made in Italy handcrafts – and nothing is more exciting to them to offer Nomination, who comes from their hometown of Florence. Pierotucci has added new online some delicate additions to the style FREEDOM. The style Freedom uses some strong rock symbols like the razor blade and handcuffs to represent a powerful concept : Liberty. Free to be who you want, when you want, to live the power and energy of a generation.

Inspiration For Gift Giving This Christmas Season
Posted by Pierotucci in Designer Handbag Fashion, Italian Fashion Jewelry, Leather Accessories, Nomination, Pierotucci on December 5, 2012
Three Weeks! There’s only three weeks until Christmas. I have been scrambling around trying to get my shopping done but it’s always so much more complicated than I plan on it being. You know, the constant debating over whether they’ll like it or not? Or pondering over what size you should buy? Hoping it’s not too small or too big. Or you’re at a complete loss all together of what to get someone and that I am also very familiar with. So I’m here to hit you with a little inspiration for gift giving. Let’s eliminate all those worrisome thoughts. Focus on something that’s easier to gift give; something that doesn’t require a size, measurment, or serious debating. For example you can give someone a nice leather belt. I know what you’re thinking! But you’re wrong, you don’t necessarily need the person’s waist size for this. Buy a leather belt, that believe ir or not, can be cut at home with a simple pair of scissors in one easy snip. And to make it an even better gift, let’s make it a reversable belt with brown on one side, black on the other. This way the person getting the belt receives something that absolutely fits not to mention it is a very practical and functional gift. It’s all about functionality. Or what about jewelry, now some things you do need the size for but the easiest is a nice pair of earrings. Nomination is an Italian Jewelry brand that makes a perfect pair of studded heart shaped earrings with a Swarovski Crystal in each, great for everyday wear and best of all, these won’t break the bank. Well, here’s to hoping your gift giving inspiration comes to you.
An Italian Christmas for Wine Drinkers, Italian Leather Wearers, and Gold Jewelry Lovers

We have exactly 25 days left of the hustle and bustle before Christmas day is resting at our doorsteps. So what’s the solution to gift giving this Christmas? It’s simple, give the gift of Italy. I’m not talking about buying tickets for the family to Italy, although I’m sure no one is objecting. What I mean is bring Italy to you. Every Christmas I go home with a suitcase packed full of gifts from Italy for my family. Just in my region alone, Tuscany, they specialize in olive oil and olives, cheese, wine and liqueur, leather, gold jewelry, and pottery just to name a few. With all these options you can gift just about anyone in your family or circle of friends. Like, your foodie mom who can pinpoint even the most particular of flavors, your wine lover aunt and uncle that are always searching for a new bottle of vino to try, your greenthumb best friend that needs a new pottery piece for the garden and almost anyone with a beautifully handmade italian leather handbag, jacket, or wallet. I myself, have just wrapped up an orange leather handbag for my sister, black lambskin gloves for my mom, and an amazing couple bottles of wine for my dad that I’m hoping he’ll be generous enough to share. So stop procrastinating already and get shopping!
Wishing You a Very Merry Christmas From Pierotucci.

Vogue Fashion Night Out 2012
Posted by Pierotucci in Fashion and Color, Italian Fashion Jewelry, Nomination, Out and about in Florence, Pierotucci on September 22, 2012
Four nights ago I stepped out of my fabulously antique Italian apartment in the city center of Florence to find Vogue Fashion Night Out 2012 in full swing. So, I did the only thing I could and let the spirit and love of fashion take me over. It was a truly whimsical evening lit by Vogue fashion bags that lined the street. The city bustling with people, live music that filled the streets even more so than the passers-by, and all the stores open until midnight and full of ambitious, late night shoppers.
With many people dressed in their best or most wild threads and the extreme handful dressed in vintage fashion from as early as the Renaissance, I chose to go a bit dated myself. I wore a classic black dress, a faux fur, leopard print bolero jacket, ruby red wedges and killer red lips to match, looking very 1950′s inspired. Something more or less along the lines of the look below.
I couldn’t help but indulge in all the city was offering that night and took a stroll to see what exactly was going on. With stores open til late, I stumbled upon Nomination and their promoters for this great jewelry that Pierotucci offers as well. That was just one of the many things going on around the city. Stores were offering free cocktails and samples of products, demonstrations and showing vintage fashion related products like antique sewing machines, and there was fashion inspired art set up all over the city.
After making a nice little cirlce of the city I stopped for a glass of red wine at Caffe Giacosa where a fantastic band played live baltic music. It was the perfect place to stop. I grabbed a table on the outside terrace where the band was, the temperature outside just right, and I could people watch and browse my favorite designer threads as the city stylishly moved past me in slow motion. At one point I even had models approch my table to take pictures. They were wildly dressed in a strange combination of leather with a style inspired by the seventeen hundreds, almost Marie Antoinette like.
It was one of those evenings where the city comes alive and is lit up with fashion from every which way. Vogue Fashion Night Out in Florence was a fashion fairytale!
Is there a difference: Swarovski Cystals or Elements
Posted by Pierotucci in Nomination on November 4, 2011
All that glitters is gold except if you come from Wattens Austria, then all that glitters is Swarovski !
The plant founded in Wattens Austria in order to take advantage of local hydroelectricity for the energy-intensive grinding processes Daniel Swarovski patented to make his cut glass crystals has grown to produce some of the most beautiful jewelry around. It is almost incredible to think how his small and humble beginning as the son of a glass cutter has now evolved into the word Swarovski being synonymous with cut crystal.
Just look at the depth and color that the crystal in this necklace offers, available in green, blue, purple and champagne colors it sparkles and reflects the hues of the rainbow while dangling at your neck.
Swarovski is one of the world’s largest crystal suppliers to jewelry manufacturers as well as to the clothing and lighting industries. Third party manufacturers, such as Nomination, mark these products by attaching the branding label “MADE WITH SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS”, or by describing them as “made with Swarovski crystals”, or as “Crystallized™”.
It should be noted however, these manufacturers may not refer to their products as Swarovski products. Italian fashion jewelry designer Nomination has found a way to incorporate these Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED™ into their women’s and men’s jewelry lines – adding an elegant but also youthful feel. Nomination, an entirely Italian made fashion jewellery made with 18K gold, stainless steel and sterling silver offers trendy and whimsical designs, like the BUTTERFLY line. Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED™ elements and stainless steel mix to create a fun piece for young and old alike.
The ability to use these Swarovski Elements represents a new chapter in Swarovski’s history, the possibilty to have some glittering beauty at an affordable price.
Vamos a la playa !

Sunday lunchtime we will be sitting in Cesena, near the sandy beaches on the east coast of Italy cheering our favorite soccer team to victory. The team we are playing this week is relatively young and energetic having made their first appearance in serie A in 1973 therefore they are eager to leave their mark among historic teams such as the Fiorentina who has been playing serie A since 1931.
So today we are comparing the savvy, beaching going crowd of Cesena to the historic city dwellers of Florence. Nomination, an Italian fashion brand that has catered to the younger crowd has produced several engaging bracelets for him and her using modern material like stainless steel and colored rubber bands. This design is modern and looks good with a casual style. The Nomination GROOVE bracelet is an international success story and to own a piece of Nomination jewelry is like being part of that success. Taking the simple rubber bracelet one step further, you can appreciate the genius behind the design. As well as the 3-way comfortable clasp which bears the Nomination logo, there is an unpolished black and white stainless steel plate topped with a polished plate again with the Nomination logo. In addition, there is a small diamond giving the bracelet an individuality all of its own. Create your own sense of self expression and accessorize with your favourite tee shirt or something more formal. This bracelet will look great for any occasion.
Our historic city dwellers in Florence are more partial to the classic artisan work from Ponte Vecchio and look more to the traditional designs handed down from the Etruscan gold welders. Giglio is the Italian word for lily flower and is the very famous symbol of Florence dating back to Roman times. It is emblazoned on walkways, walls, building and monuments and is a constant reminder of how Florence is steeped in tradition. Hand crafted in 18 carat gold, you can choose this enchanting piece in yellow, white or rose gold. Rose gold is becoming ever more popular and really enhances every perfect detail of this charming pendant.
Royal Wedding Charms by Nomination

Nomination has commemorated the March 2011 Royal Wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton by creating a link charm modeled after the sapphire engagement ring previously worn by the late Princess Diana.
This sapphire charm comes with three different kinds of accompanying pieces. You can choose from a antique crown, white crystal matrix, or hearts. As with any Nomination link bracelet the remaining links can be used for other additional charms. This way not only will the commemorative Royal Wedding charms be the centerpiece of your bracelet, but you will be able to add other symbols that capture your unique personality.
In addition to the commemorative bracelet, Nomination has also had a little bit of run with a mock ring, the stretch band makes this a one size fits all!

Unbeknown to most of our western visitors Pierotucci has a jewelry section that boasts some of Italy’s finest products such as: Shell carved cameos, 18k gold and silver filigree jewelry, as well as mosaics. We also firmly believe in supporting other Italian businesses that demonstrate a level of craftsmanship and world awareness. The charm company Nomination is one such company here in Florence. We regularly order Nomination pieces to not only promote the company, but also be able to offer our clientèle a more fun and affordable option.
Recently we have received a new collection by Nomination which includes earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. Much of this new collection uses brightly colored crystals, leather or metal banding/chains, with a fantasy themed centerpiece.
Many pieces like the Butterfly charm necklace are extremely popular with our Japanese clientèle, who gravitate toward light and playful nomination creations. Many Westerners, and mainly Americans, focus more on the classic Nomination charms, link bracelets, and edelweiss stud earrings. In accordance to these preferences we order many varieties of playful, somber, and classic styles from Nomination’s headquarters here in Florence.
We also stock many link charms that are signature to the Nomination line, though we are not able to display them on our online store. So, should you be vacationing soon in Italy, please email us to ask for our assistance to make sure you have our emporium on your itinerary enabling you to see our great selection of jewelry and charms.
