It may be that (technically) the day filled with the most sunshine was yesterday, on the 20th of June as opposed to the 21st, but Pierotucci, myself and Villa Demidoff will be celebrating it tonight.
Many will be off to Villa Demidoff, a restored Florentine villa with a huge green grassy park right outside of the hot Florence city center, to indulge in some guided star gazing, refreshing cool air and some much earned relax … and well, probably some very hungry mosquitoes. I found this out by following our ex-colleague. I say you can never have TooMuchTuscany, check out her FB page for other fun updates !
The star gazing idea is enticing but personally I would prefer to be doing it in my own secluded little garden area – where I can kick back and enjoy the sounds of the vineyard, the twinkling lights of Impruneta in the distance and the astronomical delights all on my own. (OK DH will be present).
My game plan is to eat a late dinner of mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, toasted bread and some prosecco (OK LOTS of prosecco, you can never have too much prosecco). Then settle back with a huge bowl of gelato and count the stars as the come out.
