For more than one reason February is associated with red and hearts – Pierotucci is embracing the challenge to show you something red every day. Just a little reminder to Go Red for Women and take care of your heart.
Just a little bit of research turned up the possible origins of this phrase – the red carpet and other than the obvious associations with kings, queens and royalty I found it rather curious to read:
In 1902, The New York Central Railroad used plush crimson carpets to direct people as they boarded their 20th Century Limited passenger train. This is believed to be the origin of the phrase “red-carpet treatment” …
“How did “red carpet” come to be synonymous with royal treatment?”
By now we associate the term red carpet with luxury, stars and special treatment…so why not? Let’s roll out the red carpet and wear our luxury. These last few weeks (and more to come) have had everyone ogling the red carpet with fashion weeks in London, New York and now Milan. What is rather obvious are some of the fashion trends – and one which is particularly close to our hearts is: leather. Leather jackets, leather skirts, leather dresses and if its not made 100% of leather then it has leather accents. This, my friends, is wearing the luxury.
