Enthusiasm in Italy for the 2013 Confederation Cup

The Italian enthusiasm is not just for the Confederation Cup but for the entire team, especially Pirlo and Balotelli who pushed the team over the edge with their determination, skill and enthusiasm.  Gotta love this image which captures the pure emotion of triumph on A. Pirlo’s face!

First Victory for Italy at the Confederation Cup 2013

It takes a combination of teamwork and individual skill to build a team that can win!  Players like Pirlo with his stunning aim for the first goal.  Who is Andrea PIRLO?  He was born in 1979 and is frequently praised for his excellence in dribbling and accurate passing ability – not to mention his control on long distance shooting and passing earning him the nickname “L’Archietto” or the Architect.  It was definitely these skills that placed the penalty kick right into the goal!  He has played for several Italian Greats like Inter, Milan and Juve and has made important appearances for the Italian National Soccer team as well as the Italian Olympic Football team.

Though controversial in his personal life, Balotelli is nothing but phenomenal on the field – and the second point of the game is a testimony to his strength and determination earning him a place in Italy’s heart.  Who is Mario BALOTELLI?  The number one striker for the AC Milan soccer team.  His nickname “Super Mario” is very well earned this year when he finished the year by scoring 12 points in only 13 games. He left Italy to go to England and returned once again when the Thailand billionaire who owns Manchester City sold him to the AC Milan team who used his incredible skills to jump to third place in the National League Championship.
